How Sit Happens Came To Be (and Why It Exists)

Sit Happens Walking started the same way a lot of good things do: with a deep love for animals and the feeling that something was missing. I noticed that many pet services were fast-paced, crowded, and very one-size-fits-all. That works for some pets, but not for all. So I decided to create something different, a pet care service built around quality time, consistency, and truly getting to know each animal.

One of the biggest reasons Sit Happens Walking exists is my background working with pets of all different needs and personalities. Over time, I didn’t just get comfortable with it; I genuinely fell in love with it. The more unique the pet, the more rewarding the work became. Every animal communicates differently, and learning how to meet them where they are is something I truly enjoy.

A big part of this passion comes from personal experience. I have a reactive dog, and for a long time, I felt like I couldn’t go anywhere unless a trusted family member could care for him. Finding someone who truly understood his needs, triggers, and routines felt almost impossible. That experience stuck with me and became a major reason I decided to specialize in working with dogs of all backgrounds, energy levels, and temperaments.

Because of that, Sit Happens Walking is built around patience, understanding, and individualized care. Whether a dog is reactive, shy, high-energy, senior, or just a little quirky, I’m comfortable adjusting my approach to what works best for them. There’s no rushing, no forcing, and no expectation that every pet should act the same.

While dogs are a big part of what I do, I also work with all types of pets. Cats, small animals, birds, reptiles, and other household companions are always welcome and receive the same level of care, attention, and respect.

With over 10 years of experience and a long background volunteering in animal rescue, this work is incredibly close to my heart. Caring for animals has been a part of my life for nearly half of it, and it’s never felt like just a job. I treat every pet I care for the same way I treat my own, with patience, attentiveness, and the highest level of care.

My goal is for every client to feel confident and relaxed when they use my services, knowing their pets are loved, understood, and in good hands every single visit.
